Prime Minister Modi in Thrissur: A Grand Celebration of Women’s Empowerment

On January 3, the municipality of Thrissur in Kerala witnessed an no-go exhibit of saffron as Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a roadshow, turning the municipality into a vibrant sea of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) colors. The occasion was the ‘Women’s Power with Modi’ conference, organized by the Kerala unit of the BJP to express gratitude for the successful passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill.

As the Prime Minister arrived from Lakshadweep without a two-day visit to the Union Territory, the excitement in Thrissur was palpable. BJP workers flooded the municipality from the early hours, delivering cut-outs of Modi, vibration drums, and chanting slogans. The undercurrent was charged with vaticination as only women were permitted into the venue of the conference, prompting men to gather on both sides of the Swaraj Round to reservation a glimpse of the charismatic leader.

Before his visit to Kerala, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various minutiae projects in Lakshadweep. His visit to Lakshadweep included a review meeting on aspects related to the progress of the Union Territory.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Modi defended to the nation and laid the foundation stone for multiple minutiae projects worth increasingly than Rs 20,000 crore in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Notable projects included the Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Plant (DFRP) at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in Kalpakkam, a facility capable of handling both carbide and oxide spent fuels from fast reactors.

Additionally, Modi inaugurated the new terminal towers of the Tiruchirappalli International Airport, the second-largest in Tamil Nadu for international traffic.
