High Seas Heist: ₹220 Crores Worth of Cocaine Intercepted from Indonesian Ship at Paradip Port, Odisha

Officers from the Odisha Police, the Central Industrial Security Force (CIDSF), and Customs have successfully intercepted a staggering 22 kilograms of cocaine, with an unscientific street value of ₹220 crores. The seizure took place on the Indonesian cargo ship MV Debi, which had docked at Paradip Port in Odisha.
 
Customs officials in Bhubaneswar revealed that the vessel, en route to Denmark for a steel plate shipment, had raised suspicions without anchoring at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal berth. The transilience came on Wednesday when a vigilant crane operator working on the ship noticed unusual packets and promptly alerted the authorities.
 
Following the alert, a swift response ensued as law enforcement and a defended dog squad rushed to the scene. A subsequent raid on the MV Debi led to the discovery and seizure of 22 kilograms of cocaine unseen on board.
 
The collaborative efforts of Odisha Police, CIDSF, and Customs underscore the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in combating illegal activities.
